Mr. Sean Gilham - Owner / Head Instructor
"Our goal is inspire the next generation of Martial Arts Athletes" Mr. Gilham is the owner and head instructor of Impact Martial Arts. He started Martial Arts at age four and comes from a family of Black Belts. Mr. Gilham has dedicated his life to sharing his knowledge and experiences in Martial Arts. With over 20 years experience and over 10 years of teaching Martial Arts, Mr. Gilham is a 6th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, Certified Instructor, USA Taekwondo Coach, Level 1 Hyper Pro Certification. He has developed instructors and assisted in the development of other Martial Arts schools and programs. |
Mr. Gilham has become a Bully Defense Advocate for Chilton County and Shelby County; visiting educational schools and hosting Bully Defense workshops throughout the year, including a12 week bully defense program. After experiencing bullying at a young age, his goal is to inspire and educate the community on bullying. He also hosts an annual fundraiser event and tournament benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital since 2010.
Mr. Gilham has competed around the United States. He also develops top competitors that have been successful all over the United States. In 2017, he has developed athletes that become a National Champion in competitive weapons and silver medalist in Korean Traditional Forms in World Karate Championship (sport karate) also a National Champion and Silver Medalist in United States Taekwondo Championships (Olympic Taekwondo), along with many other students achieving successes through competition.
