BJJ is a Martial Art, combat sport system that focuses on grappling and ground defense. BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger, heavier assailant by using proper techniques, leverage, and defense techniques while on the ground or going to the ground.
Training is used for self-defense situations and for sport grappling competition. Expect to sweat during class.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is recorded to be one of the safest martial arts, even for beginners.
