Since February, Impact Martial Arts has been teaching some of the HKAA students at all three locations. The students have been training hard each week learning jump kicks, acrobatics, and a performance routine (aka performance form).
We wanted to find a fun way for the students to showcase all they have learned on a large scale. What better way than a real karate tournament!

3 DIFFERENT TYPE OF COMPETITIONS
We will have three different type of competitions set up. Each competition will award a 1st-3rd place medal. Students will be grouped by age.
1. Performance Form: Students have been learning a routine of strikes and kicks to perform. Students have been encouraged and show how to add their own flair and personality to it. Own flair/personality can be the added acrobatics and trick kicks learned to the level of intensity displayed. Also, music can be added if desired! Students will be scored and awarded based on their performance attributes.
Scroll down for a Follow Along Video to the performance form.
2. Kick Challenge: Students will perform as many front kicks in 60 seconds as possible. A target will be held hip level. Kick must be at least hip level to count.
3. Board Breaking: Students will get 1 board to come up with the most creative break. Break can be done with hand or foot. Students will have a board break day at their HKAA location during April to get a feel of how it works. Score will be based on the number of tries it takes (max 4 tries), creativity, and difficulty.
